BHS Choirs Performance Attire
BHS CHOIRS PERFORMANCE ATTIRE
Hello Choir Students, Parents and Guardians,
We know you're busy! Therefore, I heavily place this responsibility on the students! However, as with my own two children, I recognize that some information never makes it home. I will drill this requirement into our students' minds over and over. If ever there is a question, use the CHOIR FRIDGE MAGNET to access this information as we get closer to performance dates.
The short version! There are provided black choir dresses, but students need to wear black, flat dress shoes. Those not wearing the dresses, ties are provided, but they must wear black dress slacks with white, long sleeve, button-down dress shirts.
Why? To heighten our students' sense of professionalism and classiness while fairly and effectively managing various opinions on what is appropriate and what isn't. Please take a moment to read through our choir attire expectations and have a quick conversation regarding whether you have what is required. Just like sports teams require uniforms, the choir students have attire expectations for their performances. We've seen it all; from slippers, flip-flops, boots, and clogs to sweatpants, leggings, and shorts! In an effort to get back to "normal," the students and I have been working together to make our various choir performance attire expectations as clear as humanly possible to eliminate any misunderstanding on performance days. The singers will have heard these expectations excessively prior to each of our performances and I will send out Remind messages as we go.
There are 3 basic titles for our performance attire: 1.) Pro-Concert Attire. 2.) Own Dress Clothes and 3.) Casual. From here on out, students will not be permitted to perform (just as an athlete is not permitted to go on the field) unless these expectations are met. Students will be required to show their Pro-Concert Attire Shoes on a given date well before their first concert. (Note: The Pro-Concert Attire expectations will be the same for those going on the Disney Trips). Attire for each performance will be shared on our Choir Events Calendars.
1. "Pro-Concert Attire." There are two Pro Concert Attire options: a.) Pants with Shirt or b.) School-Provided Dress.
a.) Those wearing Pants with Shirt:
Jewelry: Optional
In all cases, no large, flashy, necklaces, bracelets, or dangly earrings/nose rings
If anyone is experiencing financial difficulties, please send me an email as soon as possible and we will find a way to help. No student will be excluded from participating due to a family’s financial circumstances.
